Principal’s Message

Welcome, Wildcat Families!

I feel privileged to be the principal of West Oaks Elementary. I’m proud to work with such a remarkable and dedicated team of individuals. It is our mission to create a strong learning foundation for every student based on kindness and collaboration. I look forward to building collaborative relationships with the families of this wonderful community. Our Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is a great way to get involved with planning events and engaging in your child’s learning. Our School Advisory Council (SAC) meets monthly to discuss school-wide progress, discuss areas for improvement, and enhance student learning. The SAC’s primary role is to assist in the preparation and evaluation of our School Improvement Plan. We encourage all families and community leaders to be involved in the education of our students, so please join us through one of the many parent and community engagement opportunities.

OCPS’s vision is to make sure “Every student graduates inspired and prepared for a thriving future.” Here at West Oaks Elementary, our staff works to set a foundation for this vision every day by creating a caring classroom where students receive B.E.S.T. benchmark-aligned instruction, engage in collaborative learning, and differentiate instruction through small-group instruction, interventions, and enrichment opportunities. Progress is monitored regularly through standards-based unit assessments, state progress monitoring assessments, and intervention programs. Our goal is for your child to meet all of their goals and feel a sense of belonging here at West Oaks Elementary.

Thank you for choosing us to set the foundation of your child’s education.

In partnership,

Elaine Lundberg
